Some years ago I was the subject of an attempted identity fraud.
Luckily I didn't lose anything except a lot of time sorting out the mess.
One of the components was that I was signed up to thousands of mailing lists - to cause my email to fill up so I wouldn't notice the 'we have replaced your SIM' email.
So I spent a day (I wrote a script) unsubscribing from those mailing lists.
I kept one.
