Not to mention how convoluted email is to develop for, just a little worse than XMPP. Plus, Gmail, again the thing everyone uses, is super strict on what servers they block, frustrating only valid users and competitors since spammers seem to have no problem bypassing it.
Email should be eradicated, we shouldn't be putting more weight on it.
