there's this bit in one of the marvel movies, forget which one, where spider-man starts a sentence with 'there's this really old movie called the empire strikes back,' & at the time i thought of it as the kind of heavy-handed 'am i right, fellow kids??' moment written by those anxious to appear 'cool' to a demographic they can't really conceptualise. but having now seen a sentence started with 'this tv show called "charmed"' i am ashamed of my words and deeds
