I was recently made aware that if a waxed canvas object has lost its water repellant, you can fix it by just rubbing a brick of wax on it, smoothing it out with your hands, and melting it a little with a hair dryer.
You can also wax other fabric this way.
Kinda feels like we’ve spent a lot of time, money, and energy waterproofing stuff other ways for only minimal improvement over this…pretty simple tech?
