Some examples:
- go to settings spotlight, search privacy, add your disc in the dialogue, take it out again and spotlight will be rebuilt
- delete file remains from deleted programs: terminal > enter the command: mdfind -name „nameofprogram“ and it shows you a list of files which are still on your disc
