I also use noscript (although this is a bit tedious in that you have to specifically enable the javascript that you want). Some combination of these has done a great job but now seeing a popup where google mentions using an adblocker and it'll pause the video until you close dialogue box and start video again, but I still find this vastly preferable.
Someone more knowledgeable about these can weigh in but I'd start with EFF's privacy badger and adblock olus, check results and then consider noscript. Fuck ads
