Here's what I know. I don't want anyone to say "Congratulations!" Pushing faculty to accept second jobs in order to keep programs running is not something to congratulate. Paying people 5% of the full-time salary to do it is not something to congratulate. I'm doing this because the measly benefits outweigh the likely negatives. But don't fucking congratulate me.
