Yes. Mother underwent a surgery where a surgical pad was left in the wound. She kept not healing and having pain until they found it several months later via x-ray or ultrasound. The removal surgery was quickly followed up with a bedside visit by the doctor to get her to sign a release from indemnity form. I will never forget her face as she looked to me for an answer whether she should sign or not. I still wonder if I should have dissuaded her from signing. My thoughts were that we were not sewers/suers. Her surgeries never fixed what she had initially gone under for. I am not sure suing would have brought closure either though.
