Now, through the lens of Stoicism, this line carries even deeper meaning for me. Our thoughts are our only true possession. All we can hope to control.
Yet we inherit and regurgitate beliefs - about politics, money, meaning - without question. We go to university to learn how to think, but often leave knowing only what to think - and what to repeat.
Is it not more virtuous to be wrong by your own reason than right by borrowed thought? To risk breaking something in pursuit of something better?
Isn’t that Will’s whole point?
