Alcoholism isn’t a problem for everyone. But for me, it’s been a huge limiting factor in my life. Once I healed from the damage I did to myself, I began to look around at those around me who struggle through similar addiction problems and learned to appreciate the fire and zest of that kind of “all in” “obsessive” spirit, the one that previously bound them to substance and now unchained. free to express itself in cool physical, spiritual, and professional forms.
Now, most of my friends are ‘recovering’, and I can’t unsee the beautiful resiliency in each of them. Never have I felt such a kindred spirit kind of connection to other dudes. We stay up late talking and speculating about god, we listen to a lot of the same kind of music, we’ve all been locked up so have a distrust of establishment, we all appreciate having families because we’ve felt real loneliness.
I’ve missed the past few AA meetings, but I’m stoked to see the guys before going into the holiday season, always a little hectic time for me, lots of bad memories from how it used to be. By the way, we’ll for sure be chatting #bitcoin, because most of ‘em are plebs too. 😂🧡🫡
For the culture.
