npub189nhq0cw33243htm08c53vjvgc5letv7d9sgqtgqsn6fnx6dv8zs0fsatx (npub189n…satx) The question here really is what action, if any, can we take that will compel elites who derive their power and privilege over other people from the status quo to take meaningful action against climate change.
I'm not seeing it. They've refused any such action despite ever more dire predictions. Ignorance is not an excuse; they are flatly sacrificing much life on earth to preserve their own positions.
So that means we need a revolution. But the trouble is that for all the talk, even of something less significant like a general strike, we see no action. And another not insignificant part of the problem is that when you rely on people with guns to effect social change, well, they're the ones with power, which puts us back in the same position.
Show me a strategy that will actually work. For all the protest, I'm not seeing it.
