I started out at 300 baud with that Atari XMM301, and then graduated to 1200, then 2400, then 38.8K then 44.1K then 56K. I started to use a dedicated 56K for a while until I ended up upgrading to ADSL and eventually to HFC (cable Internet). Around 1996, I ended up starting to work for a couple of ISP's before I worked for @Home (THE broadband company for a while!) around late 1998 and that was AWESOME back then.
