Did you know that folks publish essays?
Like it's a thing.
I was introduced to Joan Didion by a lover. One of her books, The Year of Magical Thinking, introduced me to this new (to me!) form of writing.
Not novel. Not non-fiction how to or guide book. Not stream of consciousness. Not a poem.
But a well ordered essay. Musings. Conveyance of truths, sure. But not the technical guides or philosophical treatises that I was brought up to think were the brackets of the allowed writing forms.
I think I'll dive into essays.
