Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) has ordered the definitive imprisonment of deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP). The decision also provides for extradition and loss of parliamentary mandate, with immediate communication to the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB). The First Chamber of the STF rejected, by unanimous vote, the appeals of Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) and hacker Walter Delgatti Neto against the conviction for invading the systems of the National Council of Justice (CNJ). The trial of Zambelli and Delgatti took place virtually and had a deadline for completion on Friday night. The rapporteur, Alexandre de Moraes, was the first to vote and was followed by ministers Luiz Fux, Cristiano Zanin, Flávio Dino, and Cármen Lúcia. With the unanimous decision, the Supreme Court closes the case against Zambelli and decrees the start of the imprisonment sentence and loss of parliamentary mandate. There is no further appeal against the conviction. Zambelli's sentence provides for 10 years of imprisonment, with a closed regime, and loss of parliamentary mandate. Delgatti's sentence is shorter, at 8 years and 3 months of imprisonment. The deputy was accused by the Public Prosecutor's Office (PGR) of planning and commanding the invasion of institutional systems of the CNJ, with the help of the hacker, to issue false release warrants and fake arrest warrants. The goal, according to the indictment, was to cause confusion in the judiciary. The conviction was decided unanimously by the First Chamber of the STF on May 15. In his vote on Friday, Moraes said that Zambelli's conviction has a 'pedagogical and preventive function, which has an evident punitive and preventive character, preventing the repetition of criminal acts'. The minister also stated that the defenses 'are seeking to re-discuss points already decided by the Supreme Court [...] and reveal mere dissatisfaction with the conclusion reached'.
