Ok. Here's comes another 'help the new #amateurradio club' question.
First, some background. Monday, my summer radio class was meeting. One group is putting together a Get On The Air (GOTA) box. This involves fastening components to steel shelving that fits into a gator box. As a consequence, my students need to use a power drill. My youngest student, a go-getter male biology major, doesn't let planning slow him down. We saw him using a power drill as a saw (don't ask), and his working position put him at risk of ventilating his kneecap.
Thus my question about safety training. Do any of you who are involved with #amateurradio clubs have a safety training program for power tools and RF energy, for example? If so, I'd love to learn about what you do.
(While I wait, I'll be planning a safety briefing for the students, tomorrow.)
