The plaintiff was a photographer and the defendant a #nonprofit company (#LAION) that collected links to images and made the collections #OpenAccess. Although it copied images in the process of building it collections, it only shared the links. It was vindicated under #Germany's #copyright exceptions for temporary copies, text and data mining, and scientific research.
