A few, when I’ve gently uttered my concerns about smart meters (that it is problematic that they all contain a remotely operable contactor that the supplier can shut off without a site visit) who’ve said “yeah but they would never do that”. I’ve had a pro smart meter campaign organisation say effectively the same. And an energy supplier.
TIL in Octopus’s Ts & Cs, they explicitly say they reserve the right to remotely cut you off. If there is no intent to ever do it, why put it in the Ts and Cs?
