Just like apples, art takes a whole lot of time and effort to grow. An NFT can be many things. Not just a jpg. An NFT can work as a paywall (even though what was suggested in the post I commented on was a pure paywall).
If someone is willing to pay you get fresh content, that is great for the artist. Then he/she can produce more of it and buy some apples. Of course, everything will end up on some place on the internet for free in the end but that's true for Netflix, Spotify etc etc too.
I'm not discussing buying and reselling jpegs here. I'm talking about apple pie coming straight out the kitchen.
I don't think supporting people who create value is stupid. That's why I've zapped some coders writing open source code that will be available for free.
But that's just my opinion of course.
