Where are you getting that number? I wouldn't be too surprised if it is accurate, but nostr.watch had closer to an total of 1200 reachable relays. However, I imagine there are a lot of unreachable relays out there, too. Everyone running Citrine on their phone is technically running a relay, even if it is only accessible to them. That could easily push the number of active relays well above 3000.
