My thoughts, in no particular order:
1. Lack of UI determinism. UIs are now much more prone to changing underneath you, often in the guise of "learning" your preferences.
2. Much more dependence on remote resources. Most modern toolchains now automatically fetch dependencies from remote servers as part of building. This can be powerful, but there's often little thought toward protecting against remote failures.
