There are two gravitationally stable regions ahead and behind every planet in orbit. These are known as the Trojan regions, and they're known to collect asteroids. In fact, Jupiter's Trojans contain as many space rocks as the main asteroid belt. Astronomers have found the second Trojan asteroid in Mars's L4 region, designated 2023 FW14, which was once part of a larger asteroid that was smashed up billions of years ago.
