As a general rule, the rationale for flaunting one’s acceptance of obvious logical fallacies is that it demonstrates one’s loyalty to the tribe. You have to drink the kool aid to gain acceptance to the group. The more bitter tasting the kool aid, the more loyal you gotta be to drink it.
