The way to go is to extract the Haskell code using `--newcode` mode just as you're extracting LaTeX code using `--poly` mode. If you've never done this before, this will require wrapping lots of your `%format` directives in conditionals, but e.g. `spacing.fmt` does the right thing, and `^` in `--newcode` mode formats as nothing.
