I find myself sending Neovim to the background with Ctrl+Z almost on a daily basis, e.g. when I'm editing a config file for a service and quickly want to restart that service.

Like, I know I could use :! in Vim to run a shell command, but it doesn't have my shell history and completion and aliases and stuff; Ctrl+Z is just faster and more intuitive.

Then, just type fg to be back in the Vim session just like you left it.
