The ability to eat high quality food, to take long walks, to have small talk with strangers, to live life in a slow pace... Of course not all small towns offer such things but, in general, it can be the difference between living always stressed and thinking life is meaningless and being laid back, with a sense of beauty. It also comes down to what kind of job you do as well. Lots of small towns have these pretentious assholes who act as if we are living during war time and make you feel constantly pathetic.
