catgirl pro tip: when designing a GPIO controller, make sure it has a way to set a pin to output without having it immediately drive a (non-negotiable) 0 on it.
I particularly like how, on the board I am looking at, they connected this GPIO to an (active-high) voltage regulator enable pin.
