So the other day I casually mentioned that I have been shadow banned from Hacker News and guess what? I got the receipts. All you got to do is compare what the submissions page for my account looks like when I'm logged in versus when I'm not logged in (dark mode pic is logged in, light mode pic is not logged in).
As you can see, my last three posts have effectively been hidden from public view.
I guess this kind of censorship comes with the territory especially when you endeavor to reach the kind of people I'm attempting to reach by posting my content on HN to begin with. I went into this knowing that this group was not going to be receptive by default, but honestly I didn't expect to be banned. I'm not trolling and I'm not being rude.
But yeah I love this future in which VCs like the "vibe coding" clowns running Y-Combinator can just silence opposing voices rather than attempting to actually converse with them.
