You might be able to bypass the second check, by adding 2-factor authentication app to your account.
I'm really annoyed that both Microsoft and Paypal have defaulted to not asking for your password, and just sending a code to your phone/email. What was the point of the password? Then, when I say, "No, let me enter my password", it still immediately makes me get the code from my email anyway!
