Months ago I rented a server ( or instance ) at Rackspace. The minimum charge was about $70. So AWS at their worst was better than Rackspace.
A little story - Rackspace (here in San Antonio) is in bad shape. Their attempt to compete with AWS did not work. Then they tried the integrator approach. Apparently that did not work. They are moving from their headquarters - an old mall - to much smaller digs.
