Yeah, that is a problem. I don't have solar because my roof is old but thick steel.
I tried regalvanising, and some other rust reversion method ~5 years ago. The regalvanising worked pretty good. But I was worried I would have a roof failure and the solar would be a pain and just lead to more grief.
I considered building a garage or car port with the solar on it to isolate it from the house, I don't use enough power to justify it.
