Republicans may like having Ramaswamy in the primary race because it makes them feel artificially broadminded. But whatever else they might like about him, I just don't think there's any way those religious bigots would vote for a Hindu. I mean, my evangelical relatives think of any non-Christian god as demonic.
I think Haley is the only one of South Asian heritage with a viable path because she converted to Christianity. And I'll bet a lot of them aren't totally convinced of that.
