I have been recording vocals using a pair of closed ear headphones. I've found these tricky to work with, difficult to hear my voice, stay on pitch, etc. I tried adding reverb to my monitoring chain with some success, but it still felt weird.
A YouTube video suggested using open or semi-open ear headphones for vocals to address some of these issues. I tried it and liked it a lot. Being able to hear the room makes it a lot easier to sing and I haven't noticed any bleed from the phones!
