
Sheikh Hareth bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the 22nd edition of the Sharjah Heritage Days in Al Hisn neighborhood in Kalba, in the presence of Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Muslim, Director of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, and a number of officials, visitors, and guests interested in Emirati heritage and culture. After the inauguration, Sheikh Hareth bin Saqr Al Qasimi toured the facilities of Al Hisn neighborhood and viewed some of the old possessions, including household items and old devices such as radios and televisions. He also listened to a visual presentation about some aspects of the past, including building, education, and aspects of people's lives in the past, on land and sea, and the way of life in the past, and then signed the visitors' book, praising their efforts and congratulating them on presenting Emirati heritage in a magnificent way. Popular folkloric shows were warmly received by Kalba residents, who presented their performances, including Emirati folk arts such as Al Azeez and Rizif, and others, wearing traditional attire and accompanied by the sound of drums, sticks, and swords, and their voices resonated with songs of love for their country, pride in their leaders, and pride in the achievements of their ancestors and the nation's high status, which was achieved through the efforts of their children and their loyalty to their homeland. Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Muslim, Director of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, said that the joy has overwhelmed everyone in Kalba, known for its authenticity, love, and hospitality, which confirms that heritage is in good hands. The heritage events featured folkloric performances by popular groups, as well as special heritage activities for children and educational workshops presented in an entertaining format.
