The man who levers long his life,
May see a blessed day,
In faith, he measures up all strife,
And beckons it to pay,
The bramble and the briar burn,
To fuel his blessed bet,
From sloth he does repentant turn,
Makes sweet his curs-ed sweat,
Through all he tenders up his best,
To offer well-earned scars,
As payment for the endless jest,
Played by the larping czars,
But when they swing to land their punch,
A calloused hand they meet,
With little work they lose their lunch,
Bid usury defeat,
This leveraged man continues on,
A pathway bricked with joy,
His dreams, they wander into dawn,
And into his employ,
To lift his wife and sons and kin,
Above all thoughts of loss,
And shield them from the risk that’s in,
This game of pitch and toss,
God bless the man, ten levers used,
To make ten levers more,
And give to him ten levers loosed,
To lift ten cities, poor,
Until they’re heavy and they’re rich,
With men unbound by risk,
Men unafraid to toss or pitch,
Their fortune on the Fisc.
