wouldnt you say, north africa, southern europe, the levant and a chunk of central asia are also the west? I mean the western ideal itself is pretty knew and liberal, I dont live in the west so you know a lot more than me, but europe alone was so divided despite being christian.
IDK, i just feel division along denominations seem more sustainable than the west or east.
