#WritersCoffeeClub 13 What's your favourite antagonist to write? Villains, anti-heroes, rivals?
I don’t believe in antagonists these days, it’s too easy and not true to life. Problems are problems because they’re complex enough not to have a clear solution. The moment an antagonist is named it’s about winning rather than finding the best solution to a problem and that problem is no longer nuanced. There can no longer be a satisfactory resolution, which is why we can’t have nice things.
