Despite various Christians disagreeing on various important but secondary points, the creeds and confessions provide distillations of the fundamentals of the faith. Any denominations or sects or churches that depart from the fundamentals are not adhering to the historic Christian faith and are therefore finding "whatever truth they want" in the Bible.
