Today's factoid: The #Aotearoa govt has restricted carbon forestry to land use class 7 or 8, which realistically means class 7. We have just over 900,000 ha of Kyoto-compliant LUC 7 land. If the Globe study is correct, the only way we can fill the gap in our C accounts to meet our commitment to GHG-neutrality by 2050 is by forcing all owners of that land to plant permanent, unharvested exotic plantation forest.
