TLDR; long rambling about all of this and random video upload

Dear Nostrites, Nostreans:
Exploration of this protocol/platform/network continues. Trying out Coracle on the PC today. I didn't have "me buying bitcoin" (for zappiness) on my 2025 bingo card, but here we are. Still waiting for the transaction on the exchange to settle(?) so I can actually use the BC to send sats to the lightning...network(?), so I can set up a channel in Alby to get involved in all that here.

It all falls in line with what I am both used to and expected. You either pay for a service or you are the product of the service, and I prefer the former situation if having to choose. While I haven't had the chance to test it out yet, I like the idea that I can send/tip someone some sats, and if they get enough, they can turn them into fiat to get real world stuff they need/want.

Seems as though crypto currency is still dealing with the same issue that I remember from the early-to-mid 2010s, where you can't just take it into a majority of IRL establishments (like with fiat) and buy your stuff directly with it. Seems like a lot of it is still going through buying gift cards to spend. I'm surprised that this is still the case all these years later, but I guess mass adoption is going to stay the final hurdle for crypto currency to overcome, or maybe it's not going for mass adoption anymore? I don't know, this subject matter is not something I consciously keep up with.

Learned about that today. At first, it sounded like the Nostr version of a blue check mark, but it seems to actually not be. Apparently, a person can get it setup for free in some places and has to pay in others. The opinions I've read on it so far seem to discount it as not very useful. ( Here's an example: https://njump.me/nevent1qqs92h746wgvk95ymf08xf4eph897g64262pen5js7zmwj3r8pz43qczyz8wg2gvnzeqk2vezw9nyt6xd63qcatq3atg4dfu7y2f90um96zfc8wfez9 )

I'm not into the minutiae of all of this, but I appreciate the overall goal. I'm going to send this post and see which clients I have installed on my devices actually pick it up. I have posts from days ago that I'm not seeing on coracle.

Anyway, here's a short video I edited because a reddit post had me laughing:
