I go with the Greek and Shakespearian view here: an antihero can have redemption but they are still going to face their destiny, which is always self-destruction.
For example, "The Doors" movie shows us a great one... Morrison rages around, trashes everything, and finally gets closer to clarity, but then has to go off and die anyway.
Antiheros exist more as symbols than people at some point.
