I just had a revelation. In our 3D asset pipeline, we use a special atlas and UV hotspotting to add fake bevels to low-poly hard surface models.
The problem is that the bevels can only have a fixed angle. The default is just using 45 degree chamfer/bevel. The problem is that only looks great on a convex shape with ideally 90 degree angles between faces. On convex or more complex shapes, the bevels look wrong...
What if we could use baked curvature to fix that though?
