I don't allow it to transcoded video (only audio) because of older hardware but direct play works fine
I tend to keep a 4k version and a smaller 1080p h265 version of movies which covers all devices. Shows are just 1080p at most
There is sometimes a 5 or 6 second delay in buffering when sound plays but a black screen for me on Xbox/kodi
