Ahh, good ol' tech debt.
As I recall, each pad type is kind of it's own thing and it uses the chainpad library and then pushes messages out through the secure iframe to the crypto layer that is on the outside. They don't really share that much.
I'm not sure how you would do it without implementing it on each pad type separately, you might have to at least add a hook to each one...
