It's very appropriate that after Facebook renamed itself to "Meta", claiming a common word for their brand, they now call their app "Threads", making another word unusuable.
So now when people post the words "meta" and "thread", I always have to look up if they mean the thing or the app. Great
And don't get me started on "Alphabet", as Google now calls itself.
That sort of shit ought to be illegal. You can't just go around trademarking everyday words.
