the mini pc is now my workstation, and bitcoin will run in the background...

most of this is because my AMD hardware is nice for games but everything else on windows sucks balls

meanwhile, everything on linux sucks balls on AMD Radeon

i just need my work done and when i'm done working i want to chill, so i got all htat lined up now, and probably i'll set that thing to sleep when it's not in use

two things really hit me

broadcom bought out vmware... good luck figuring out how to get vmware workstation anymore

virtualbox is the same garbage it was 5 years ago, and sucks, doesn't handle multiple displays

qemu is probably the most advanced now, which is hilarious, i mean, with IOMMU i was literally partitioning my gaming laptop's video between two VMs, and the discrete video ran faster than it did in hybrid mode

the entire shebang is a fucking shitshow these days

bad incentives lead to bad software architecture leads to shitty experiences all around

windows for games only... it's the only thing it does right now, this WSL stuff was all well and good, but the integration with native IDEs is pretty piss poor, and intellij is the best, and it's still annoying as fuck

anyhow, yeah, back to the grind
