Do a lot more people use their phones while driving than I think?
Police here announced that they were going to do a distracted driving month where they'd ticket people for using (touching) their phones while driving.
The two times I saw police waving people over for this, they were getting maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of drivers on this straight stretch of road near a school, pulling up to a red light.
Can it really be the case that 1/4-1/3 of drivers are actively on their phones? That seems too high?
