Oooh, just to add another—keep your early drafts.
There is zero point comparing yourself to other writers. You can only compare yourself to who you were. Keeping old drafts (especially those really shitty ones which you’d rather they never saw the light of day ever again) gives you a reference point to help you see how you’re improving as a writer.
