What aspects of your former profession do you bring into your writing?
I worked as a zookeeper for 10 years, which was frankly as long as I could stand. It was the most rewarding job I ever had but also one of the saddest. One thing I learned that stayed with me is, like people, animals are individuals. Anyone who's ever had a pet can tell you that, but this fact extends to ALL wildlife.
