Dear Nostriches!
I write to #asknostr for help or advice.
Let me start with some of my background:
I am a 35-year-old male from Belgium who lived in Australia for 6 years and New Zealand for 3 years.
I've also traveled around Vietnam and Indonesia.
Since my return to Europe a few years ago, I have dedicated all my time and energy to stacking #bitcoin #sats,
after learning how the system actually works (big yikes) because of #btc and seeing how my mom gave her all her whole life to still be worried about tomorrow.
I own no fiat or assets, apart from the one true asset you can actually own, of course,
and a big van I converted myself into a campervan (shower, kitchen, full-size bed, etc.).
I currently live in this van, which I could sell for around 17k to fund my next chapter in life (and maybe buy some sats, lol—so hard not to put everything into btc all the time).
I'm like @jackmallers having to sell some btc to pay the credit card debts.
It's not bad, but now, after a while of riding around and living like a nomad,
I have to admit it's kinda lonely, utterly boring, and purposeless.
I feel a bit lost right now and am searching for a sense of direction.
I have been looking for ways to help spread the bitcoin message around here, but honestly,
Europe and Europeans are way behind.
So caught up in life, blind to everything happening around them, just as long as they can pay the bills.
Most people I know would rather continue doing the same thing over and over, putting their future into the hands of others, instead of learning.
Ever since before the Euro, I had a feeling something was up but couldn't back it up with knowledge.
And now, so many years later, one low-quality egg costs as much as all the money I received to go to the bakery for our family as a kid.
After all these years I've spent abroad, it just doesn't feel like my place anymore.
Now, why am I saying all of this?
Being on Nostr for a while now, it's always been the place that gives me #hope for a better world whenever I felt down and needed some 'faith in humanity restored.'
Seeing many people put in the work and many new projects get started in places like #afrika, #elsalvador, and #thailand gives me hope.
So, through this way, I hope to find people or places where I can help build a #bitcoin future. #jobstr
I don't need much, just some healthy food, some exercise, and an occupation that has meaning and helps people. That would make me more than happy.
Because of where and how I grew up, my main skills lie in construction:
any type of renovation, water, carpentry, painting, you name it.
I am also very familiar with anything Linux, Windows, and Android-related since I was hooked once I saw my first computer (MSDOS, lol).
I used to be the one to repair or build friends' or family members' PCs/phones and learned a thing or two while creating my own OT server a few years ago.
This includes sql, cpp, html, xml, lua, pixel art, object builder, etc.
I'm not really a leader when it comes to business since the company I grew up in was run by my father and then my older brother,
so I'm more comfortable in a helping position. I could say I'm pretty flexible.
I speak English, Dutch (Flemish), and 'okay' French. I've been learning Japanese just because I like it.
So, anyway, are there any people anywhere in the world in need of someone to help build for the future?
Or do you know somebody who might be open to discussing this? Please tag them in this post, and I appreciate your time immensely!
Thank you,
Ivi
