Many argue that you're not electing a president, you're electing a team. A team that can't veto bills, or function as commander-in-chief, or issue pardons, or sign executive orders. Instead, we'd have a doddering old man, possibly signing what's put before him without the mental acuity to fully understand. You wouldn't hire someone like that to run your company; why would you want them to run your country? 1/4
